If you are integrated with the Pardot connector, the process for using the FastPass Registration feature is extremely easy:
- Step 1: Enable FastPass in Channel settings
- Step 2: (Optional) Customize FastPass token parameter value
- Step 3: Copy the event URL and use in your promotions
- FAQs
Step 1: Enable FastPass
Navigate to the FastPass settings page in your Channel settings and enable the feature.
- Go to your BrightTALK Central account
- From the side navigation, select "Channels" and click on the appropriate Channel
- Click Settings, then FastPass
- Turn the feature on - you're all set!
Step 2: (Optional) Customize FastPass token parameter value
If you are using variable tags and have not upgraded to Handlebars Merge Language (HML), you need to edit the value in FastPass settings to %%crm_id%%. If you do use HML, you can ignore this step as the token is defaulted to {{Recipient.Id}}.
To change token parameter:
- Navigate to FastPass settings in BrightTALK Central
- Click Edit next to "Token parameter" field
- Update the parameter and save your changes
Step 3: Copy the URL and promote
Copy the event URL link from your Content Overview page. When sending out email promotions from Pardot to your webinar, this link will automatically generate the FastPass token, and anyone who clicks it will be able to go through the FastPass registration process.
Note: currently this field will only be populated if the Pardot lead is also a lead or contact in Salesforce. If it is not, the value will be blank and the FastPass process will not work.
Pardot FastPass FAQs:
Q: I noticed there are UTM/tracking parameters automatically included in the Event URL. Do I need those for FastPass and can I change them?
A: Yes, these parameters can either be changed or removed altogether - it does not impact FastPass. In order for FastPass to function correctly, "bt_tok=" string must be present in the URL.
Q: Can I shorten the link in bit.ly (or another site)?
A: Using shorteners is not recommended, as it may cause the dynamic portion of the URL (the token) to not get generated correctly.
Q: How do I generate a regular link for my non-email promotions?
A: To generate a non-FastPass link for other promotional avenues, simply toggle the feature off in the Event URL window and the link will be updated to exclude the FastPass token. This will not disable the feature altogether on the channel level.
